Guess what we did today?

We sang Jingle Bells at the Junior talent quest.
I wonder if we will make it through to the whole school one?

Fish kites

As part of our Up, up and away inquiry on flight, we made fish kites.

One of the reading groups read a story called Let's see Ling Lee.

The story was about a girl who brought a goldfish to school for her class. She brought it because in China having 3 goldfish is lucky, and in their classroom they had 2 fish so she brought in another one.









In Room 16 we have had 2 goldfish, so we thought we should get another one too.



We put on our hats and walked down to the pet shop. It took us awhile to choose!

 The pet shop lady used a net to catch our fish, then she put it in a plastic bag filled with water.

 Then we carried our fish back to school.

 This is our new fish. We named him Sparky.

Diwali

Last week Yash told us he had been celebrating Diwali. We thought we'd find out a little more about  Diwali.




This was our big book for the week.

 We made diva lamps.

 We had ago at making rangoli patterns out of powdered paint.

 Yash brought in his special clothes that he wore during Diwali. All the boys loved trying them on. Don't they look awesome?
