Wanted 1 million lids!

We like collecting things in Room 16. We thought we'd make a very big collection, so we are going to collect one million plastic lids.
We will keep everyone updated on how  our collection is going.

10th November

Today we got all our boxes out and did a big count up.

This is what 21,800 plastic lids looks like.

We have made it to 20,000 lids.
Thank you so much everyone for all your contributions. We have had Cafes, Rest Homes, families, friends, grandparents, churches, all sorts of amazing groups saving their lids for us.
Thank you all so much.

We have developed a sorting and storage system.

When our bags of lids arrive we sort them into colours.

Next we count out 10 groups of 10, making 100 and put them into a plastic bag.

When we have five bags of 100 we empty the bags into a box.

 Finally we label the boxes and stack them.

 Thank you everyone so, so, much for helping us with our collection.
We are 1/50th of the way there!

29th August-We are now sorting our lids by colour, and counting them into groups of 100.
We have 17 bags of 100, 1700, nearly 2000.

18th August  We already have 616, nearly 1000!
